A CHARTER ORDINANCE EXEMPTING THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, KANSAS, FROM K.S.A. 12-1222 RELATING TO RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERS OF’ THE CLEARWATER LIBRARY BOARD AND PROVIDING SUBSTITUTE AND ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS ON THE SAME SUBJECT.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF’ CLEARWATER, KANSAS:

Section 1. The City of Clearwater, Kansas, by the power vested in it by Article 12, Section 5 of the Constitution of the State of Kansas hereby elects to and does exempt itself and make inapplicable to it the provisions of K.S.A. 12-1222 which applies to this city, but is part of an enactment which does not apply uniformly to all cities, and elects to and hereby does provide substitute and additional provisions as hereinafter set forth in this ordinance.

Section 2. All members appointed to the Clearwater Library Board shall be residents of USD 264 and Sedgwick County, Kansas. At least four members of the Clearwater Library Board at all times must be residents of the City of Clearwater, Kansas.
